The Maltese Embassy at The Hague in the Netherlands will be hosting an exhibition of about 15 paintings by Maltese artist Monica Spiteri between the 26th of April and the 9th of May 2016. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the H. E. Joseph Cole, Malta's Ambassador at The Hague.

The exhibition is being supported by Express Trailers who have offered to handle the logistics involved with the transportation of the paintings from Malta to The Hague in time for the exhibition and back after the event is over.

Titled "Friends in Art", this will be a joint exhibition by Monica Spiteri and Hanneke Wessels, a Dutch artist living at the Hook of Holland to celebrate the artists' mutual and long-standing friendship which goes back to 1999.

"At the time when I met Hanneke, I was having my first personal exhibition "Paintings and Ceramics" at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta and a few years later, Hanneke also had the opportunity to host an exhibition of her works at the same museum. This is where our friendship was born and now we are happy to be celebrating it through our art," says Monica Spiteri.

"We are proud to be supporting this exhibition in The Hague by ensuring the safe handling and delivery of the artist's paintings from Malta to the final destination. Our support stems from Express Trailers' commitment to play an active role within the community in which we operate and to help in the best way we know - logistics. We are also delighted to see that our company continues to be trusted where it matters most as this confirms our efforts where besides goods, we also deliver trust," said Franco Azzopardi, Chairman and CEO of Express Trailers.

Born in 1952, Monica Spiteri studied painting under Charles Cassar, Harry Alden, Esprit Barthet and Matt Bruce R.I., modelling under Samuel Bugeja, wood sculpture under Anton Agius and ceramics under Anna Ciavola. Besides various participations in collective exhibitions, Monica Spiteri is also recipient to a number of awards. She was also selected to represent Malta at the Isedem Project in Sicily.

Her last exhibition "Symbolic Imagery of Archaic Gems" was held in 2006 at the Museum of Archaeology in Valletta.
