The idea for Project Cabaret came around four years ago when the troupe's members had just attended a really intimate performance and thought it would be a perfect setting for a musical theatre cabaret, which would celebrate both well-loved compositions and beautiful lesser known numbers.

Why musical theatre repertoire? Thankfully, but also ironically, there are more and more opportunities for budding artists and performers to train and hone their skills in musical theatre but not many chances to explore the genre outside of their vocational training. We wanted to give our fellow actor-musos a chance to sing the songs they love from their favourite musicals.

What's an actor-muso? Our cast consists of musical theatre trained performers who are also accomplished musicians in their own right. This enables us to experiment with the musical arrangements of our chosen songs and have total creative control of our interpretations. So be prepared for a few surprises!

The performance will be held on 7, 14, 15 May at Palazzo de la Salle, Valletta.
