Connie Mifsud, Kevin Micallef, Russell Galea and Robert Grima are the winners of a BOV MasterCard Prepaid card each. They participated in a competition launched by Bank of Valletta on its BOV Club Facebook Page. The cards were presented by Charles Azzopardi, Head PR & Marketing at Bank of Valletta.
Over the last weeks, a question on the latest edition of the BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards, featuring birds of prey that occur in the Maltese Islands was published on the Facebook page, and the 10th correct reply received was deemed the winner for that week.
BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards are payment cards that are pre-loaded with a fixed sum of money and when the card is used, the money is deducted from the amount originally loaded onto the card, unlike a debit card or a credit card where the money is taken from a bank account or a line of credit. The BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards come in four denominations - €50, €75, €100 and €150.
Congratulating the winners, Charles Azzopardi explained, "A few months ago, Bank of Valletta launched the 4th themed set of prepaid cards. By linking a theme to every edition, we pay homage to the beauty of the flora and fauna of our islands." Speaking about the market response to these cards, Mr Azzopardi said, "Since we first introduced prepaid cards on the market, we have noticed a significant increase both in the take up of these cards and in their usage. This upward trend is being registered both for retail and online shopping. This drives us to continue developing innovative products that translate into convenience and peace of mind for our customers."
