A high end international TV series about important historical wrecks just finished shooting in Malta. This production was shot over a period of around 5 months at various locations in Malta and a considerable number of sets were built specifically for the series. The total budget spent by this production in Malta was around €8 million.
The Malta Film Commission announced that in the next few weeks another high end TV production will start shooting in Malta as well. This is an Italian project which will be shown on the Italian national broadcaster RAI.
Minister for Tourism, Edward Zammit Lewis, who is responsible for the film industry, said that this is a clear example of diversification. The film industry is not only depending on films, but we are also attracting high end TV projects and big budget commercials.
