"All the 28 banks currently operating in Malta are members of the MBA, which can therefore represent itself as the voice of the banking industry in Malta", said Mr Mallia.

This voice is also carried by the MBA in European fora through its full membership of the European Banking Federation, which incorporates 32 national banking associations representing 4,500 banks with 2.5 million employees.

In his capacity as MBA Chairman, Mr Mallia will also be representing the Association on the Board of the European Banking Federation.
