Malta Public Transport announces ‘improvements’ to night service routes

Thursday, 16 June 2016, 17:13 Last update: about 10 years ago

Malta Public Transport has announced a number of improvements to the Night Service routes as from Friday 17 June 2016.

While there will be no changes to the popular night routes N11, between Cirkewwa and Paceville, and N13, between Valletta and Paceville, Malta Public Transport is introducing two new routes, N10 and N12, which will be serving routes between Paceville and southern and central localities respectively.

“Instead of completely removing routes that have had an average of less than two passengers per trip, we are introducing new routes that will service the same localities in a more efficient manner,” explained Konrad Pulé, General Manager of Malta Public Transport.

“In this way, passengers from all around the island can still make use of the Night Services.” Route N12 will be offering a service between Paceville and central localities, while Route N10 will be offering a service between Paceville and localities in the south of the island. Both routes will operate every 90 minutes after midnight.

There will be no changes to the frequency of routes N11 and N13, which will continue to operate every 60 minutes and 20 minutes respectively.

All timetables on bus stops have been updated to reflect these new services. There will be no changes in the fare for Night Service, which is set at €3 for tickets purchased on the bus and €2.50 for passengers using a tallinja card.

Further information on routes and timetables can be found on the Malta Public Transport website (www.publictransport.com.mt).

Passengers are reminded that real time information, including that of night services, is available on the tallinja app, which can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Play Store. Passengers without a smartphone or data connection can also send an SMS with the bus stop name to 50611010 to receive the bus arrival times.
