I refer to the recent very absurd and irrational publicity in one of our local newspapers which was attributed to The Law Enforcement set-up existing in Malta today. Notwithstanding my advanced age, I strongly maintain that all this bare-faced gaff and snide mention of, “Police morale is at rock bottom”, was not only aimed at the Malta Police Force, but also implied an element of deep empathy for the current government led by the young most erudite Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. Apart from all this futile prevarication, I firmly consider absolutely alien what President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at a recent political conference had emphatically stressed that such unwarranted comments about our Police Force were absolutely contrary to the accepted principles of fair and just democracy.

 Regrettably, I am still most upset having to repeatedly cite in the local Press, the most unfair confiscation of my proven “hammerless” auto-pistol on 7th January of this year by the St Julian’s Police Station, notwithstanding that General Police Headquarters had, on 4th April issued the Official Licence/receipt covering 2016. I just fail to comprehend why the officer in charge at St Julian’s Police Station, whom I had also invited to visit me and confirm for himself a number of official confidential documents appertaining to my former proven collaboration with the MMS (Security Branch) thus preventing further conundrum in the local Press, has not done so.

Hopefully, with the annual Police Day commemoration, parades and celebrations very soon, some positive deserving action will be taken to relieve me of so much increasing unnecessary stress.
