PwC in Malta have announced the appointment of Bonavent Gauci, Steve Gingell and Steve Mamo as partners with effect from 1 July 2016. Nicolette Hills has been appointed as director.
Bonavent Gauci joined the firm in 2000 after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta. After four years in the Assurance service line, he moved to the Advisory practice in 2005. Bonavent specialises in corporate finance, strategic business advisory, valuations, feasibility studies, mergers and business recovery. His client portfolio covers a wide range of industries including financial services, online gaming, property development, telecommunications and energy. Bonavent leads the valuation team responsible for complex financial instruments and hard to value assets such as intellectual property. He also co-ordinates The PwC €1 million Start up Fund, a PwC Malta initiative aimed to assist start-up companies. In 2009, Bonavent graduated from Warwick Business School with distinction obtaining a Master in Business Administration specialising in corporate finance and strategic management.
Steve Gingell joined the firm in 2003 after reading for a Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta, starting in the Tax service line. In 2005, he completed a Master in Law with a specialisation in tax at the University of London. Following this, Steve worked in the Tax practice at PwC London for a two-year period. Steve advises a wide variety of local corporate and international clients operating in various industries including banking, aviation, gaming, tourism and trading operations. He also lectures in VAT and European Tax Law at the University of Malta.
Steve Mamo joined the firm's Assurance service line in 2004, after reading for Bachelor of Accountancy at the University of Malta. He further developed his audit experience through secondments to PwC Canada and PwC Channel Islands. Steve presently services a portfolio of high profile and listed clients in a number of industries in the services sector, including manufacturing, retail, shipping, automotive, hospitality, health, telecommunications and financial services. Steve delivers in-house training on audit methodology and has lectured audit and assurance subjects with BPP Malta.
Nicolette Hills joined the firm in 1993 as part of the Assurance line of service, as an ACCA student. Over her time with the firm, she has been involved in both local and foreign audits and has been on a number of overseas secondments. Whilst she continues to be involved in audit, Nicolette's focus is now the oversight of the firm's quality and risk management and independence function. Nicolette has been a member of the internal Quality and Risk Management Committee since 2004 and is currently a member of the MIA Ethics Committee.
