(1-4, 3-5, 4-6, 2-6)

Valletta played a no nonsense match, to sweep aside their opponents emphatically. Exiles were never really in tth game, and a hesitant start didn't help matters for them. The Citizens were sharper than their adversaries, and ran up a solid victory, with the highest score yet this season. They were accurate in their man ups, netting seven from nine, with Exiles still finding it difficult to convert their extra player situations. They could only muster a single goal from seven man ups. The Citizens had Michael Cordina unavailable.

Valletta came frothing out of the blocks, making up a four goal advantage, with Charlie Zammit and a brace from Dmitri Kholod, with James Spiteri Staines netting his strike in between. Jukian Rizzo naudi obtained Esiles' first goal. Valletta tooka man up with them in the second session, and scoring through Michael Spiteri Staines. Exiles tried to inject some life, as they found tehir opponents' net three times, with a double from Milos Vukicevic and David Pace Lupi, but the Citizens had a reply every time, from Zammit, Aleandro Mifsud and Kholod, with Michael Spiteri Staines extending Valletta's advantage, to a 9-4 score, till the interval.

After the break Valletta were still pouring in their goals, although exiles responded well, with their own strikes. The Citizens scored three times to Exiles' one, with James Spiteri Staines, and his brother Michael, with two more, and Simon Vassallo netting for Exiles. The latter side then scored three themselves to Valletta's one, as Andrea Bianchi and a couple from Vukicevic, one from a penalty, had Kholod in a reply for the Citizens. Till the end of the period Valletta added two more goals, from Kholod and Zammit,, taking Valletta to a solid 15-8 advantage. The Citizens went right on in teh last quarter, again scoring six times, to Exiles' pair of strikes. Kholod scored the first and last goals, and in between there were morem from Michael Rizzo, Mifsud, Zammit and Andrew Zarb Cousin. Exiles' contribution came from Bianchi and another Vukicevic penalty.

Sweet revenge over first round match

Ta Xbiex Amigos     14     M'scala Nutrition Empire     7

(5-2, 4-2, 1-2, 4-1)

What Ta Xbiex failed to do against M'xlokk, just days ago, when they let slip the match from their hands in the closing seconds, they managed against M'scala, in a somewhat tame affair, with M'scala seemingly a subdued outfit.  Ta Xbiex made amends for their opening round defeat, obtaining a better scoreline in their favour, when they had lost 9-12. Ta Xbiex were under the guidance of Mauro Camilleri, with coach, Keith Grima Scott suspended. Jurgen Micallef was back in goal, but Andrew Sammut was missing. Ta Xbiex fared well in their man ups, converting four from six. M'scala scored their first, but failed in the other three.

Gabor Kovacs scored his only goal, to put M'scala ahead, early on, but Ta Xbiex had Ayrton Camenzuli and an Adam Maklari penalty, to overturn the score. Kiam Grixti put M'scala on level terms, with ta Xbiex forging forward,, and having Kurt Mock, Ben Grech and another Maklari penalty, taking them to a better 5-2 advantage. In the next session Jean Claude Cutajar and Stephen Micallef scored for M'scala. In between there was Maklari with another goal for Ta Xbiex, who then had skipper, Rheinhard Attard and an Edward Meli brace to propel them to a 9-4 lead, into the interval.

After teh break M;scla semmed to be rallying back, as Joe Cremona and Grixti took them nearer, but they lost a couple of man ups, and Ta Xbiex had David Fenech scoring, for a 10-6 advantage, going into the last session. There was not so much response from M'scala, who only had  Matthew Pace netting his goal, but Ta Xbiex had already had Attard scoring for them, and in teh remaining time, they took their score to a much better victory, as Maklari, Fenech and Mock finished off their opponents.
