The New Choral Singers, under the direction of Wayne Marshall, and in association with the Hilltop Gardens, recently presented their annual Summer concert, which this year was entitled 'Lights! Camera! Singers!'.

This year's concert, which was held at the poolside area of the 'Hilltop Gardens' in Naxxar, was a celebration of musical sound tracks from screen and stage.

During the concert the Choir delighted their audience through the delivery of a variety of items from Broadway to La Scala.

The highly successful performance included well-known operatic arias such as the 'Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves' from the 'Nabucco' by Giuseppe Verdi, and other arrangements from more recent composers.

The audience was also treated to a solo piano performance of improvised themes from 'West Side Story' by world renowned conductor, Wayne Marshall, and a bass solo by Albert Buttigieg, one of the best bases on the island.

The Choir was accompanied on the piano by Irina Fedcenko-Carbonaro and by resident conductor Ms Shirley Helleur.

The concert was held under the distinguished patronage of Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca - President of Malta, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. T
