Malta Stock Exchange treats children from the Tarxien Creche

Tuesday, 9 August 2016, 12:20 Last update: about 10 years ago

For the second consecutive year, the Malta Stock Exchange hosted around 14 young children from the Tarxien Children’s Home to a fun filled day by the pool at a Siggiewi Farmhouse.

The Exchange staff together with the children, nuns and other carers had a great day out, with everyone taking a reprieve from the heat of summer with games and lots of swimming, as well as lunch and refreshments in a truly picturesque environment.

This event was organised by the Exchange, which regularly endeavours to organise events with staff and their families, and combine these events with fundraising for charitable causes.  The Exchange and its staff also contributed to financially support this event, since it fell within its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy which assists worthy causes that are charitable, socio-cultural, educational or environmental.  The success of the event was also made possible through the generous support from Mr Tony & Mrs Marlene Borg and their family who graciously  hosted the event  at their farmhouse.

The Malta Stock Exchange Chairman Mr. Joseph Portelli said that he really enjoyed these events through which staff and other benefactors could create such a special day. He said “I think we all experienced a huge sense of satisfaction seeing the children, and their carers, have a relaxed enjoyable day out.  This is one of those occasions when Corporate Social Responsibility in action really makes a difference.”
