Friday, 9 September 2016, 19:56 Last update: about 10 years ago

As part of the BOV Investor Education Programme, Bank of Valletta will be holding educational sessions focusing on retirement planning and life assurance.

"This Programme, which will run over three consecutive Mondays, will focus on the area of life assurance," explained Mr John Paul Abela, Investor Relations Officer at Bank of Valletta. "Throughout our lives we all have differing needs for life insurance; the obvious time being when we take a home loan and the lender may require a policy as security. However there is more to life assurance than that, as the speakers will be explaining during these sessions."

Participants will learn about the different functions that a life assurance can serve, ranging from protection to a savings vehicle. The final session will be dedicated to the sustainability of state pensions and the necessity of planning ahead for private pensions.

The BOV Investor Education Programme will consist of three sessions delivered in Maltese. Every session will run from 18.30 to 20.30 hours over three consecutive Mondays, commencing on 12th September 2016. All sessions will be held at BOV Centre in Santa Venera. Parking is also available.

Speaking about the initiative, John Paul Abela, Investor Relations Officer at the Bank explained, "As the world of financial services becomes more dynamic, it becomes more complex. For us, at Bank of Valletta, it is a priority that we ensure that age and education do not constitute a barrier to access financial instruments to anyone in our society."

Participation is free of charge, however one is required to register by calling on 2275 7570 or sending an email to [email protected]. Further details are available on bov.com.
