On Friday, The President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca paid a visit to LeoVegas Gaming Ltd - a sponsor of the President's Solidarity Fun Run. Launched in 2012 in Sweden, LeoVegas' vision is to create the greatest gaming experience and be number one in mobile gaming.
The President started her visit at LeoVegas Gaming by going on a tour around the different departments in the company where she met and spoke to all employees, including the two co-founders Mr. Gustaf Hagman and Mr. Robin Ramm-Ericson. The tour was followed by a meeting between H.E. The President and LeoVegas' senior management.
Johan Styrén, CEO of LeoVegas Gaming thanked Her Excellency for the visit and explained how since the very beginning LeoVegas' mantra has always been to do things mobile-first. With regards to the Malta office that opened in October 2012, Mr. Styrén said, "at the beginning we started with just around five employees and today we've grown to almost 250 professionals. Together we make up 15 nationalities and albeit this mixture, which is vital due to the different markets we operate in, some 25% of staff are Maltese. We've found great talent locally and we're glad that we have a great mix of nationalities in pretty much all departments."
Mr. Styren also explained how LeoVegas is very active in terms of corporate social responsibility and has over the years supported a number of organisations. "We're honoured that for the first time, LeoVegas is co-supporting the annual President's Solidarity Fun Run in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation," announced Mr. Styrén. He also stated that as a gaming company, LeoVegas is very pro-active with responsible gaming initiatives and offers all its customers a full range of tools and assistance. "We also support various organisations that work with problem gamblers as well as with their families and friends," concluded Mr. Styrén.
Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, thanked LeoVegas for their support and praised their wide-ranging Corporate Social Responsibility, from philantropy to the environment. Speaking about the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, Her Excellency said, "every month, the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation receives around 200 new applications for assistance and spends approx. €250,000 on chemotherapy and specialised care. I therefore thank LeoVegas for their support in the Fun Run and welcome more collaboration between the iGaming industry and the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation."
