Just a couple of hours after reading MaltaToday’s latest public opinion survey result, which showed Dr Joseph Muscat holding an eight-point lead over the PN leader, while the PL had marginally increased its lead over the PN, Simon Busuttil had the gall, once again, to tell a few PN supporters gathered in Nadur that he and the PN “would be winning the election”.
When one considers that this survey was carried out just three days after the PN’s Independence mass-meeting, in which Simon Busuttil was supposed to have “switched on” the PN’s electoral campaign, and made all sorts of electoral promises, this result should have, at least, convinced him not to keep making such glaringly obvious stupid statements.
No wonder Dr Muscat quipped: “Yes, Simon Busuttil has switched on the machine. But he put the gear in reverse.”
