The Internet of Things or "IoT" has made possible enormous amounts of communications in different types, formats and sizes, all accessible anytime and anywhere. Without doubt, one of these possibilities is YouTube.
Through some statistics on this channel, one may immediately become aware of the sheer effect on society at large. The age-bracket which is mostly influenced by YouTube is that between 18 to 49 years of age and this utilizing YouTube on mobile alone.
A further figure will help get a better picture: YouTube users amount to more than a billion! YouTube has set up its availability in 88 countries and has its access in 76 different languages. Another interesting aspect is that 80% of YouTube's viewers come from outside the United States, and since March 2015, film creators have produced over 10,000 videos which generated over 1 billion views and over 70 million hours of watch time! WOW! These few statistics highlight the power of the YouTube channel.

It gives you the full visual aspect and therefore, to appeal to more viewers. Depending on the item/theme to be delivered, you may decide how long to make the clip. On YouTube, one may find a plethora of themes and in a variety of lengths too; from simple clips, to book and cinema film review, to lessons which length is well over an hour of watching, and songs, comedies and whole concerts, together with prank videos! There is something for everyone indeed.
Additionally, one may create his own private channel secured with a password and/or private or public access possibility. In fact, there are more than 400 million videos from 8,000 different partners who make revenue from their uploaded works.
Having and using a YouTube Channel has its potential if one knows how to maximize its tools and draw users to its channel. One important aspect to remember when using YouTube is that, whilst other social media may be less engaging and more flat, in using YouTube one has to be more versatile, visual appealing and creative to start with. You must think as if you are on TV - thus, watching and hearing becomes the number one issue for you as a broadcaster and director of your own channel.
