Ten BOV credit cardholders won a set of BOV MasterCard Prepaid Cards each for the value of €375. The winners were drawn by lot from all BOV customers who took up a new BOV credit card between June and August 2016. The winners were welcomed by Mr Ivo Camilleri, Executive Electronic Banking and Ms Ramona Despott, Manager Cards Issuing at the Bank.

Congratulating the winners, Ivo Camilleri stated that, "Cards are fast becoming one of the preferred methods of payments for more people. Year on year, we are finding that people are recognising the important benefits they present over cash and cheques, namely the peace of mind and convenience that they represent." He went on to say that BOV Cards are accepted across the extensive Visa and MasterCard acquiring networks worldwide.

Whilst presenting the winners with their gift pack, Ms Despott said that the Bank of Valletta prepaid cards have gained increasing popularity within the local market, particularly in connection with online shopping. She said that, "The versatility of prepaid cards renders them the ideal gift for all celebrations from graduations to birthdays, as well as Christmas. Furthermore, these cards have provided the Bank with an appropriate means of promoting the beauty of local flora and fauna. In fact, themed sets are issued from time to time.
