Food Safety Grade AA+ for Magro Brothers of Gozo

Monday, 7 November 2016, 21:00 Last update: about 10 years ago

During the last week of October, Magro Brothers (Foods) Ltd was inspected by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety (Issue 7).

BRC is a leading safety and quality certification programme, used by over 23,000 certificated suppliers in 123 countries, with certification issued through a worldwide network of accredited certification bodies. The Standards guarantee the standardization of quality, food safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfill their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer.  In today's retail industry, BRC Global Standards are now often a fundamental requirement especially when products are exported to different countries worldwide. These standards go beyond the food safety requirements of the European Union.  The audit is carried out annually and since the past five years a more challenging unannounced audit was introduced to check the readiness and continued observation of the standards by manufacturers through a surprise audit.

Every year, Magro Brothers have always achieved excellent results, however, this year the company achieved the highest rating with a Grade AA+ result.

This reaffirms the dedication of the company to improve quality and puts Magro Brothers at the top of this prestigious global list with only a handful of manufacturers possessing such a high grade.

The success of this crucial audit is a merit to all employees for their endless efforts and teamwork. For this the management is sincerely grateful and congratulates them all on their excellent achievement.
