When, in November 2015, De La Rue had announced the downsizing of its workforce by 300 employees, Simon Busuttil’s In-Nazzjon of 23 November 2015’s main front page story read: ‘Id-De La Rue se tkecci mijiet ta’ haddiema’ ( ‘De La Rue intends to sack hundreds of workers’).
But when the same company has just announced that after discussions with the General Workers Union and the government, it had decided not only to keep the same workforce but intended to increase it to 500 employees, I could not see one word about this very positive announcement on the front page of In-Nazzjon.
As if the PN are only interested in stories which may cause concern and grave problems to workers and their families.
And Simon Busuttil and his motley crew seem to be offended when the PL accuses them of being always negative in the way they react to what happens in our country.
