The Floriana parish church spent €45,000 on two crystal chandeliers to decorate its interior. I'm sure that Jesus would be horrified with such extravagant trumpery in a Christian church.

The Floriana church is typical of other Maltese churches which, when dressed to the hilt with red damask and gaudy chandeliers, look like ballrooms in 18th century Venice!
