“Everything will be disclosed once the Labour Party files in the donations list and everything will be in the public domain,” Prime Minister Joseph Muscat told The Malta Independent when asked how much money did big businesses or their owners, who were awarded public tenders, donate to the Labour party under his leadership.

The Labour Party has so far failed to register with the Electoral Commission, which this morning launched an investigation into vreaches of party financing law.

This means that the PL has failed to declare the donations received in 2016 by the end of February of this year.

The Nationalist Party, along with the other smaller parties, have all registered with the Electoral Commission.

The list of donations was part of the financing law of political party that the current administration put into force a year ago.

The Prime Minister also faced questions from members of the press concerning the  €11,000 he spent in a week in a hotel in Dubai while on a holiday with his family.

He said that much like the Leader of the Opposition, he was entitled to go on a family holiday, especially considering that he and his wife had been together for 20 years and married for 15, which they had to postpone following the passing of his mother-in-law.

He also maintained that he paid for the bill out his own pocket, and over a six-month period, and there were invoices that indicated such.
