Down Syndrome day, aimed at increasing awareness

Today is a day dedicated to Down Syndrome, a day aimed at increasing our understanding about this condition and the challenges these people face, Labour MEP Miriam Dalli said in her vlog.

Down Syndrome is a condition people are born with, "however are able to learn just like everyone else if they receive the necessary help."

"We are speaking about children who attend school with others, people who live independently."

Dr Dalli believes the central message to be the need focus on the numerous abilities of these persons. "I am always impressed by their talents." She goes on to speak about the laws introduced by government, as well as other initiatives undertaken.
