The Malta Institute of Management (MIM), in collaboration with the European Marketing Confederation is organising a conference entitled "Marketing 2020 - Europe and Beyond" on 30 March at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian's.

This is a quality conference that has the support of high profile organisations with speakers offering a great opportunity for marketers and people in business. MIM is proud to have the chairman of the European Marketing Confederation (EMC), Andrew Harvey, who will deliver a keynote speech about Marketing 2020. Mr Harvey will give participants an insight on the outcome of a fresh study carried out by the confederation through its member associations. The presentation will share the vision of senior marketers about the priorities of the marketing function as they see it evolve over the next years and where they think they stand in terms of performance against those needs. This talk will answer key questions such as: what will marketing be like in 2020?

World-class author, speaker and consultant, Professor Emeritus Malcolm McDonald will present his most recent study on "How marketers can develop financially quantified value propositions". This talk deals with how to capture the attention and the business of customers. Prof. McDonald will show that any supplier who can quantify financially how they can help their customers grow their profits will always succeed, no matter how difficult the market conditions. A lot of what constitutes value from a supplier is about helping the customer to avoid disadvantage, but, much more importantly, those suppliers who can demonstrate that they will create advantage for them will be respected and there will be fewer conversations about price. This talk will spell out a process for developing financially-quantified value propositions

Well-known economist and independent professional and corporate adviser Dr John C Grech will give an overview on the outcome of both talks, their possible applications to the local scene, moderate the discussion and facilitate the question sessions.

This conference is part of the Malta Institute of Management's (MIM) mission to enhance the management profession in Malta within a broad international framework, focusing on developing the competence, ethics and effectiveness of managers.

The event is meant to contribute to the development of the marketing profession and to encourage the effective use of marketing principles to reach organisational goals, whether for profit or non-profit.
