The Administrative team at Mount Carmel Hospital launched an inquiry following a report in local media that a 42-year-old man was beaten at the facility, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

The inquiry was called to determine the facts of the case.

In-Nazzjon penned an article, stating that on Monday or Tuesday, the alleged victim was being transferred from the DDU Hall to the seclusion ward. The newspaper carried images of the injuries suffered by the man in question, which the newspaper described as 'grievous injuries'. The injuries suffered resulted in the man being taken to hospital, the newspaper claimed.
