This morning the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker had a tête-à-tête meeting with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in Brussels during the European Development Days conference. He publicly congratulated Dr Muscat for last Sunday's electoral success.

Also today Dr Muscat met the President of the European Council Donald Tusk who congratulated him on his re-election. Prime Minister Muscat and President Tusk discussed the forthcoming June European Council and lauded the stable leadership of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU which, he said, is good for Europe.
