During the summer period the training does not stop for the Hibernians Basketball Club and Nursery.

A very good number of children attended this year's Summer School. During one of the sessions a group of players, all coming from the Nursery, attended to show the children their feat as all won a medal in their respective category.

These were Kurt Cassar (ex Hibernians and now playing in Rome), Paul Attard, Isaac Bonett and Matthias Buhagiar, who together won a Bronze Medal in the U18 FIBA Div C tournament held in Cyprus.

In this competition, Kurt Cassar won the MVP of the tournament. In the U18 female competition, Nicole Vella and Kirsty Caruana also won a Bronze medal. This event was held in the National School Complex in Pembroke.

For the U16 competition in the female category, Jasmine Abela, Britney Agius and Maya Vella (ex Hibernians and now playing for Rainbow Catania) all won a Silver medal in Gibraltar.

The summer training is soon coming to the end and now the Club and Nursery are preparing for a new season and inviting children born in 2010 or before to join the club's Nursery. One may contact Head Nursery Coach Tony Cassar on 79994729 or send an email on [email protected] for more information.
