Since yesterday, 159 nurses completed their studies and are ready to begin working in their profession. Minister of Health Chris Fearne said that “it’s rewarding to see the number of young people who chose this profession, one which needs huge dedication, but which also is rewarding in itself”.
Of these 159 nurses, there will be 128 nurses who will be joining health services; while 31 other nurse will be engaged in the fields of care for the elderly.
"In recent years in the number of nurses in the health services actually increased considerably in 2013, with 1,157 students becoming nurses. This is alleviating the shortage of nurses that there was over the years," Fearne added.
Furthermore, later this year it is expected that 20 more students are to become nurses.
