Malta, Paul and Joseph

Sunday, 10 September 2017, 08:35 Last update: about 10 years ago

On 13 June, 2008 Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that he did not believe in marriage between people of the same sex.

On 17 June, 2011 he also had said that “love me or hate me, the term marriage is only for a union between man and woman”

Yet in 2017, the gay marriage Bill was given priority over all others and exacted with lightning speed, just two days after the State opening of Parliament.

This is because losing your moral compass and ethical GPS is tantamount to losing your sense of what is right and what is wrong.

Gone are the days when “because your faith is proclaimed all over the world” (Rom 1.8).”

For the name of God, as it is written is blasphemed through you among the Gentiles (Rom 2.24) is more relevant in the present situation.

Is it the right time to invoke St Joseph’s intercession to eradicate from among us the pestilence of errors and wickedness which are sickening the universe? Some intervention had reached shores as well in an unmistakable and conspicuous way. Let’s face it, the horse may have bolted as well, but only the ways of the Lord leads to life, peace and happiness.
