Malta's rugby national team easily beats Croatia for second successive win

Malta obtained its second consecutive victory in the Rugby European Conference 1 South campaign, beating Croatia 56-8 yesterday at the Hibs Ground in Kordin.

Malta last week registered another victory 52-20 against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Malta immediately took full control of the match and took the lead with a James O'Brien penalty, but a Kovacic penalty levelled matters for Croatia.

On eight minutes Malta made the first try through Chris Dudman, but failed to convert.

On 15 minutes Croatia were back in business with a Pavlovic try, but the Croats also failed to convert to keep the score locked at 8-8.

From then onwards it Malta all the way with three consecutive tries from Dudman, Hollaway and Luke Watts.

Just before the break James Kirk mad another try and finally O'Brien made the first conversion for the Maltese to lead 30-8 by the interval.

On the resumption Damien Neil's side continued to dominatepiling up more misery on Croatia with further tries from Holloway and o'Brien.

The Maltese finished off the match with two further tries and conversions from James O'Brien for a final 56-8 scoreline.
