It has come to light that the winner purchased the ticket while on holiday in the Canaries. Although not stated, it is safe to assume the winner is quite pleased with the outcome of his/her holiday. The EuroMillions capped the jackpot amount to €190M in 2012, so this was the largest amount the winner could have hoped for.

This wasn't the EuroMillions first big win, however. Another lucky couple won a €190M EuroMillions jackpot in 2012. Adrian and Gillian Bayford won this incredible jackpot while living in Haverhill, Suffolk. Unrelated to their jackpot win, the couple has since gone their separate ways and split the winnings. Adrian opened his own record shop in Cambridge and is enjoying owning his own business.

Winning only €5M less than the capped amount are Colin and Chris Weir who won €185M in 2011. Interestingly, because the Euro declined in value between 2011 and 2012 the Weirs are actually the UK's biggest EuroMillions winners with £161,653,000, compared to the Bayford's £148,656,000. The Scottish couple used their winnings to establish a charity organization and to donate to political causes.
