Singer Christabelle won this year’s edition of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with the song Taboo.

It was her fourth participation in the contest.

She obtained 123 points, and was the favourite both for the jury as well as the public.

She will be representing Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Portugal in May.

16 contestants took part in the final night, which was held on Saturday at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali.

Richard and Joe Micallef’s Song for Dad placed second with 98 points and Brooke’s Heart of Gold placed third with 84 points.

Taboo is intended to raise awareness on mental illness. The song was written by Johnny Sanchez, Thomas G:son, Muxu and Christabelle herself.
