Carnival events that were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday but had to be cancelled because of bad weather will be held next weekened, Justice and Culture Minister Owen Bonnici has announced. 

Most Carnival celebrations had to be cancelled because of the stormy weather that hit the Maltese islands over the past few days. 

Limited celebrations were held on Monday, with a number of street parties taking place around Valletta. 

A number of floats were also paraded around the capital city, but many people stayed away due to the constant showers and biting cold. 

The weather was not kind with #Carnival this year. Following a general suggestion from the #carnival enthusiasts, the events which had to be cancelled will be held next Saturday and Sunday. #Letskeepthecelebrationsgoing @Valletta2018
