Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi did not confirm or deny whether he was ever approached by the tax authorities with regards to the offshore company he held in Panama.
Mizzi was speaking after a press conference where he presented NSO figures that had already been published earlier today.
Lovin' Malta asked specifically whether he had ever been approached by the tax authorities, to which he gave no reply. After being questioned further by other members of the press, he ended the press conference and left.
Mizzi was also asked to give his perspective on the different reactions to death of journalist in Malta and Slovakia, with the latter seeing several ministers and political appointees shouldering political responsibility, contrary to what has taken place in the former.
He said that the two countries were different, implying that Slovakia was in a coalition government where there were those who saw the situation as a political opportunity. He also stressed Malta’s achievements in the economy and civil liberties.
