In his weekly Vlog on the Malta Independent, MEP Francis Zammit Dimech speaks about the arrest of Ali Sadr Hashemi Nejad, the chairman of Malta-registered Pilatus Bank.
Zammit Dimech said that it was an irony that the Chairman of the bank who tried to institute legal proceedings against Maltese media houses and journalists in the United States of America in an attempt to silence them has now been arrested on US Charges.
He asked why MFSA took so long to investigate the bank associated with corruption and money laundering. He also referred to a call made by PN Leader Adrian Delia for the licence of the bank to be suspended as the whole issue was damaging the banking sector in Malta which employs thousands of Maltese.
