Malta crushed Andorra 89-3 yesterday at the Hibernians Stadium to confirm top spot in Conference South 1 in European Championship qualification.

It was biggest ever win for Damien Neill’s Malta side which made it four wins from four matches for the locals.

Malta now face the winners of Conference North 1 in the playoff for promotion.

It was a very impressive performance by the Maltese who quickly took command, scoring a try in the first minute through Benjamin Borg. From then on, they never looked back as Daniel Apsee, James O’Brien, Daniel Holliday, Clayton Cassar, James Kirk, Brendan Dalton, Luke Watts, Matthew Spiteri, Rob Holloway and Christopher Dudman put their name on the scorecard.

Andorra managed to score their only points through a penalty by Daniel Carrington.
