One hundred years ago, our island was given the title "Nurse of the Mediterranean" for the care and shelter it provided to thousands of ANZAC soldiers who were wounded in the Dardanelles during WW1.
Is there a risk that in the not too distant future the 'nurse' will become known as the prostitute of the Mediterranean, sought by all those who are rich enough to pay for her services and comfort?
