Therefore, I want to give this gift today by expressing my deep gratitude to the Mission Fund for its untiring efforts, altruism and generosity to the community-based health care programme of the Medical Missionaries of Mary (MMM) in South Sudan. It helped us to respond to the dire needs of lack of water, water-borne diseases and lack of access to health care. As MMM clocks five years in South Sudan we have seen a reduction in preventable diseases such as polio and water-borne diseases through an expanded programme of immunisation and the drilling of seven boreholes giving access to potable water to over 3,000 people and providing food to the internally displaced people. A Healing Centre is now very close to completion and this in a most challenging environment. We would not have been able to reach this far without your support. Benefactors, deceased and alive, are always remembered in our prayers and Masses.
