Karting: Kylie Camilleri busy preparing to represent Malta in the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy

The Young Kylie Camilleri a go-kart driver member of the Karting Club Malta is busy preparing to represent Malta in the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

The CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy is a one-of-a-kind Competition designed to challenge the best in the world on equal terms. The young Drivers, aged from 12 to 14, represent their country at the wheel of randomly drawn identical karts equipped with Exprit chassis and Vortex engines from the OK-Junior category and Le Cont tyres. This Competition is based on the skill and the determination of the drivers.

The list of entries for the 2018 edition includes 51 Drivers, three of which women including Kylie Camilleri, from fourty nations from five continents. Together with Malta, Barbados, Kenya, and Taiwan are among the new countries attracted by this Competition where the skill of the participants takes precedence over many other aspects.

This season the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy will visit three particularly accessible European countries known for their links with the history of Karting: France, Italy and Belgium. The three Competitions will take place on very famous circuits, as well as on the occasion of the CIK-FIA World Championship.

Due to lack of facilities in Malta Kylie was left with no other option but to travel to various tracks in Sicily together with her family to prepare herself to participate in this trophy.

The three events shall be happening on the 6th May 2018, at the International Circuit of Karting in Salbris in France, the second on the 15th of July at South Garda Karting in Lonato in Italy and the third on the 9th of September at Genk in Belgium.
