After the issues encountered by Simon Giordmaina, Franklyn Borg and their team to get the Motorcycle on time to the Kunmadaras Drag Racing Strip in Hungary and missing a whole day of races during the First Round of FIM Europe, Drag Bike European Championship 2018 they still qualified third in the event. The team won 3 rounds, got to the semifinal which from the pits it looked like a record setting pass, but the motorcycle lost oil pressure and a dedicated electronic device installed for circumstances like these switched off the engine to save it before exploding due to lack of oil. Engine saved but lost the semifinal. Following the first run Simon Giordmaina had to change the engine as the first engine developed a small crack. The timings of the 4 runs done in Hungary clocked at 7.18 seconds, followed by 7.22 seconds, 7.30 seconds and last at 7.14 seconds.
The Maltese team still holds the Hungarian quickest track record at 7.04 seconds and the fastest at 206 mph.

Another motorcycle owned by the Italian Carbonera Drag Racing team and tuned by Simon Giordmaina got to the final, ended the round in second place with a new personal best at 7,141 seconds and 202.6mph.
The next commitment for Simon Giordmaina, Franklyn Borg and peers is the Main Event at Santa Pod in England between the 25th and the 28th of May which is also first round of the FIA Drag Racing Championship hence we will also see the FIA European Top Fuel Dragster Champion Duncan Micallef in action.
