Gzira United's Andrew Cohen won the MFA Player Of the Year Award for a record fourth time yesterday in the MFA Awards evening held in Valletta.
For Andrew Cohen who will 37 this Sunday, it was another outstanding season and with his six goals scored helped his side Gzira United gain an Europa League berth next season. For the ex-Hibernians star, this award comes a few days after he was called back with the national squad by new coach Ray Farrugia.
It was a remarkable evening for Gzira United who won other important awards. Their coach Darren Abdilla won the best coach award, and star striker Amadou Samb lifted two awards - the Best Foreigner Award and the Premier League top scorer award with 21 goals.

Matteo Picciollo's goal against Balzan in the semi final of the FA Trophy was voted by the general public as the best goal of the season. Valletta's Supporters won the first edition of the Best Fans Award, and Pieta Hotspurs won the Fair Play Award.
Dorianne Theuma of Hibernians dominated the women's Awards, claiming the best player award and the top scorer award with a total of 22 goals.
Special awards were given to ex referees Sammy Attard and veteran Antonio Briguglio for his outstanding refereeing career.
The President's awards were given to Gozitan footballer Brian Meilaq for his brilliant career with Qala SJ, SK Victoria Wanderers, Nadur Youngsters, and Miunxar Falcons, playing over six hundred matches. The other President Award went to the MFA deputy General Secretary Louis Micallef.
