"Malta's work force is very professional, with key skills of a very high international standard. This in itself is another attraction for foreign investors," stated the Minister for Finance Prof. Edward Scicluna while addressing participants celebrating Trident Trust's 40th anniversary at Palazzo De Piro in Mdina on 22 May.
Trident Trust, a financial service provider, employs over 800 staff members all over the globe, spanning Africa, America, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East.
The office in Malta, which is licensed to provide fiduciary, corporate and fund administration services has been operating since 2011 and has since doubled its employees.
Minister Scicluna also referred to the imminent introduction of new regulatory framework for new technologies such as blockchain and fintech.
"We will replicate what was done in iGaming. We will be introducing tailor-made legislation for this new technology, thereby attracting a cluster of leading foreign companies in this sector," Minister Scicluna concluded.
