The International Open of Messina 2018 was held last weekend in Messina. Nine Maltese players participated in this tournament.

On Saturday the individual competitions were held. Eight Maltese players were participating on the day. Jamie Bonnici won the under 19 category winning against Claudio Natoli with the score 3-1. Jeshua Bonnici won the under 12 category. In the Veteran Category Adrian Bonnici, Patrick Pace and Mario Camilleri made it till the last 16. In the Open category Alfred Bonnici also made it till the last 16.

The Team competitions were held on Sunday. Valletta Lions TFC were competing on the day. The team was composed of Adrian Bonnici, Alfred Bonnici, Steve Austin, Hector Scerri, Jamie Bonnici, Jeshua Bonnici and Jayden Bonnici. The team made it until the quarter finals when it was defeated by the Italian team c.t. Barcellona by goal difference.  The Maltese players Patrick Pace and Mario Camilleri were also playing with their Italian team Lazio and made it to the final where they lost against the winning team c.t. Barcellona!
