VOOMQUEST the "Lifestyle on the Edge" sports platform and brand series founded and launched in Malta in December 2017 has been fully acquired for an undisclosed sum by Aaron Ciantar the MD of Chaudron Powerboats. At a meeting in Valletta last week the VOOMQUEST board accepted the offer for the majority shareholding in the Company unanimously.
VOOMQUEST was co-founded in 2017 by Martin McDonald (who also brought the UIM Powerboat P1 World Championship to Malta in 2004) and Aaron Ciantar (the Managing Director of Chaudron and 5 times UIM World Powerboat Champion). VOOMQUEST has to date successfully organized and delivered two UIM V2 International Powerboat Grand Prix events in Malta.
At the launch event in Valletta on December 17 the co-founders revealed two Chaudron SVR27 Race boats ready for the V2 Championship. As a result of this launch presentation to media and international Team owners, race boat sales increased and the VOOMQUEST 001 and 002 Grand Prix weekends revealed firstly five V2 Teams, and then six V2 Teams participating respectively.
VOOMQUEST, V2, Chaudron Powerboats and their Official Partners have received media coverage in Malta and Internationally and the social media fan base has grown from zero to more than 2,500 engaged fans from Malta and around the world proactively supporting the Startup sporting platform.
The VOOMQUEST platform has become a strong catalyst for economic and promotional media success in Malta. The first VOOMQUEST event Racing Paddock was at the Labranda Resort in Marfa overlooking Comino and Gozo, with racing in Mellieha Bay. The second VOOMQUEST event was at Bormla Dock 1 in the 3 Cities of Malta with racing offshore to Sliema. The events were each challenged with huge winds but the full V2 GP Race Programmes were delivered and the organisation received great acclaim from Partners, Sponsors, the UIM and the Pilots, including reigning UIM World and European Champion Francis Notschaele from Belgium who said "In all my many years of racing, today was the best race I ever had!"
Aaron Ciantar commented, "I believe this decision confirms my committed position to making a success of the International UIM V2 Championship and we want to make an even bigger success for all parties involved be it teams, sponsors, partners and my home country."
Martin McDonald concluded, "We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Aaron to continue with VOOMQUEST and deliver our combined vision for powerboat racing. It has been an exciting start up journey and now it is time to move on to other things."
The 2018 V2 Championship is an experimental Class of the UIM and the current leader of the Championship is Team Marine Diffusion of Corsica with brother Pilots Dominique Martini and Jean-Luc Martini who have dominated the Championship to date, winning all 6 races for a clean sweep of the leaderboard. The other participating teams and Pilots in the International field are from France, Belgium, the UK and Malta.
