Swieqi Yobetit Phoenix and La Salle HC claimed the men's and women's 2018 edition of the Independence Cup respectively. Swieqi Yobetit Phoenix reached the final after beating Hamrun Gasan Mamo HC and La Salle HC. In the final the faced Aloysians Prominent. The game was a very intense one but ultimately the boys from Swieqi Phoenix managed to claim the cup with the score of 11-9.

In the women's cup, La Salle HC placed first with 10 points with Aloysians HC coming in second with 7 points and Swieqi Yobetit Phoenix's women's team finished in the third spot.

Hons David Agius and Hons Ryan Callus presented the shields to the winners. Next week the shift will focus on the Videoslots.com Super Cup with two finals.

The women's Super Cup fixture will see La Salle HC face Swieqi Yobetit Phoenix whilst in the men's cup Aloysians Prominent will play against La Salle Multilotto. Games are on both on Saturday 29th September.
