Shooting: First MARPSC Competition for 2018-19

The Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club started their league 2018-19 with their first competition held in both Air Pistol and Air Rifle disciplines, at the Larry Vella Hall indoor range in Bidnija.  In both events the shooters had to shoot 6 sets of 10 shots for a total of 60 shots each in 1hr 15minutes.

Air Pistol event

In the qualification competition Eleanor Bezzina gave a good performance and scored a total of 566 from 600 points, followed by Stephen Vassallo with 549 and Antoine Attard with 534. 

The shooters who qualified for the final were Eleanor Bezzina, Stephen Vassallo, Raymond Cacciattolo, Antoine Attard, Romeo Zuber and Martin Grech.

In the final round, shooters had to shoot another 24 shots.  Eleanor confirmed her lead and won the 'mixed' Air Pistol event with a total of 237.2 points.  In second place followed Stephen Vassallo with 219.2 points.  In a very close contested final for the third place Raymond Cacciattolo managed to overcome Antoine Attard, leaving Antoine out of the podium with just a difference of 0.5 points.

Air Rifle event

In the Air Rifle event Michael Xuereb placed first with 549.6 followed by Damian Pisani 428.8 from 654 points.

The competition was judged by referee Angelo Galea.

The next competition is scheduled for Saturday 6 October 2018 at 3pm.
