Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club holds second competition of National League 2018-19

On Saturday 6 October 2018, the  Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club held its second competition of the National League 2018-19 in both Air Pistol and Air Rifle disciplines, at the Larry Vella Hall indoor range in Bidnija.  In both events the shooters had to shoot 6 sets of 10 shots for a total of 60 shots each in 1hr 15minutes.

Air Pistol event

In the qualification competition Eleanor Bezzina gave a solid performance and scored a total of 572 from 600 points, followed by Raymond Cacciattolo with 539 and Stephen Vassallo with 531.

Soon after the qualification, the final was held to classify the winners of the event.  Eleanor with a comfortable advantage of 12.1 points won the Air Pistol event with a total of 237.7.  Antoine Attard who was fourth in the qualification round, scored some good shots in the final and secured a second place with 225.6 points.  Stephen Vassallo followed in third place.

Air Rifle event

In the Air Rifle event the promising shooter Isaac Zammit gave a good performance and scored a total of 561.8 from 654 points,  followed by Alison Formosa with 553.5 and  Michael Xuereb with 536.6 points.

In the final round, Isaac confirmed its position and with a total of 224.6 points won the Air Rifle event.  Michael Xuereb placed second with 213.6 followed by Jeremy Pisani in third place.

The competition was judged by referee Angelo Galea.

The next competition is scheduled for Saturday 20 October 2018 at 3pm.
