What appeared to be a damaged bridge between Zebbug and Attard is causing fear of collapse amongst motorists.

A post on the Malta Roads Traffic Updates Facebook page has warned motorists to avoid the road if possible, given that the extent of the damage is not yet known. Malta Roads Traffic Update identified the road as the one leading from the Zebbug roundabout that takes you to Attard.

Questions about the issue were sent to Infrastructure Malta, who in response said: "We refer to the concerns raised about road surface damage at Triq H'Attard, between Zebbug and Attard. The area shown in the photo shared on social media is not part of the nearby bridge, and the indicated road damage is not affecting its structural stability. The road and the bridge were inspected earlier this week, and once again today, and do not need to be closed. Works to replace the damaged asphalt and underlying material are scheduled to start as soon as possible this weekend, weather permitting."
