Thursday, 18 October 2018, 12:31 Last update: about 9 years ago

A total of 24 students have ended their summer internship programme with RS2 Software, benefitting from first-hand knowledge and direct experience on how the skills they have learned through formal education is put to practice in a day-to-day business environment.

RS2 Software is listed on the local stock exchange and deals in providing managed and licensed payment processing software, with offices in Malta & Gozo, Germany, the US, the Philippines and Jordan.

Students sitting for an IT programme with the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) together with students enrolled in a placement programme with the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) concluded the summer internship with upwards of 300 hours of paid work relevant to their field of study.

They also benefitted from a certificate showing the number of hours contributed, which students may attach to their CVs and boost their prospects in an increasingly competitive job market for skilled work.

While the culture of job placements is not as advanced in Malta as it is in other countries, RS2 is committed to exposing students to first-hand experience of what it means to work in the IT sector in a highly international, multi-cultural environment, while also helping to further their future prospects in the field.
