Shooting: Nicholas Carabott wins the Donald Vella Memorial Trap Competition

Nicholas Carabott won the Donald Vella Memorial at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges, an event that was organised on two qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each.

He was joined on the podium by John Marmara and Nazzareno Attard who took the Silver and Bronze Medals respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order were:

John Marmara 42/50, Eugenio Borg 40/50+1, Nicholas Carabott 40/50+0, Gianluca Chetcuti 39/50, Frank Scorfna 35/50+1 and Nazzareno Attard who qualified with Bib number six with the score 35/50+0+2.

 

This weekend's official overall results were:

1st Nicholas Carabott 21/25 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 10/10, total score 43/50

2nd John Marmara 21/25 + 2/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 6/10, total score 39/50

3rd Nazzareno Attard 17/25 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 3/5, total score 28/40

4th Gianluca Chetcuti 18/25 + 1/5 + 3/5, total score 22/35

5th Frank Scorfna 12/25 + 5/5, total score 17/30

6th Eugenio Borg 10/25, total score 10/25

 

The top Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores:

Class A

1st Nicholas Carabott 40/50 (Count Back Rule)

2nd Eugenio Borg 40/50

3rd Gianluca Chetcuti 39/50

 

Class B

1st John Marmara 42/50

2nd Paul Sant 31/50

3rd Stephen Casha 30/50
