Since the news came out that the ‘17 Black’ company in Dubai belonged to Jorgen Fenech, who was involved as one of the developers in the new gas power station, and since it has been established that this was a feeder company for money to be pumped into Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi’s Panama accounts, it has been evident that the noise the government, particularly the Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, is making is simply playing for time. It seems Joseph Muscat is incapable or afraid to take action against these two individuals so politically close to him for some undefined and illogical reason. What this reason is one can use one’s logic to pre-suppose but the fact that the Captain of the ship is refusing to take action against two people that are obviously sinking it, when the ship goes down, everyone will go down with it. Silly remarks like the investigation is only against ‘17 Black’ and not against Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri is as stupid and hollow as saying that the police are investigating a crime but not the person who committed it. The situation beggars belief! That a Prime Minister is allowing people so close to him to run the show and to be so arrogant in their regard to other people when press investigations clearly show that not everything is right in the State of Denmark!
I believe that this Prime Minister takes his policies out of the book by Ayn Rand who writes that sheer egoism is what finally rules the roost and runs the day in “Atlas Shrugged”. He believes that everyone has his price, that every person can be bought, and that as long as people are earning money from the passport scheme then he can do what he likes and let his colleagues feather their beds without anyone saying or doing something about it. Well I have news for him. This might work temporarily but sooner rather than later the pigeons will come home to roost and they have started to return.
The report by the NAO on the procedures used to build the gas-fired power station in Delimara, confirms what many people are already thinking – that we are being run by a bunch of thieving crooks. The level that Nexia BT is allowed to oversee certain financials; the fact that the government itself guarantees the contract and the fact that the new power station is costing €200,000,000 per year more than the old power station is flabbergasting to say the least. Equally jaw dropping is the government’s interpretation of things being normal and transparent! If that deal was ever transparent then we need a new definition for transparency. I would say rather that these irregularities which are gross by commitment render the deal fraudulent and that this confirms that a can of worms is being interpreted as a can of prime tuna. If the government thinks that we are all so stupid not the see the apparent openings and connections for fraudulence and graft in this deal, then the King is ridiculous to think that we the ordinary folk cannot see that they are not wearing any clothes at all! It is the same as saying that no tenders were issued for a €300,000 contract at St Vincent de Paul Residence, no tenders were issued for a cleaning contract at the same SVPR, which was given to a company that never existed before, and no tenders were issued for services at Mount Carmel Hospital. One would be forgiven to think that we have a law requiring tenders to be issued for contracts above a certain amount of money considering that all the above mentioned contracts were given by a direct order!
When the situation reaches these proportions and the fish starts to stink from its head, then the fall of the empire is well and truly on its way. Those who believe that we are all flies and that they can push and shove us around with fake news and narratives for the gullible from morning to night have a surprise coming their way. Gullibility has its limits! Sooner or later the money or position they buy people off with to shut up or the patience of those who are considered as Lilliputians will wear thin. Soon money will not be enough to ransom their activities and their folly will be visible to all. The big do not fall so easily but when they do fall, they fall pretty hard and this is what will happen to this disgraceful government which is letting people run amok with the rule of law and with virtue and personifying fake narratives. However, Virtue, they say, is its own consoler and never consoles the vice people do.
