The second round of the National League got underway on Sunday with the top-billed match between Qormi Daikin and Sliema Hs ending all square leaving the top of the table pretty much the same.
Qormi Daikin and Sliema Hs produced the usual fare of fine hockey intermixed with moments of sporting tension and drama. Sliema were on top earlier on taking a two goal thanks to goals from Alessandro Amore in the first half and a second from captain Shaun Grima half way through the second half. Qormi Daikin kept their discipline and staged a late comeback thanks to two goals from Luke Bajada and Keith Calleja. Umpires of the game were James Mizzi and Shawn Mifsud.
In the second match of the day a goal from Shawn Dimech in the 25M of the first half enabled Rabat to beat White Hart and leave the reds still looking for their first points and goals of the season. Umpires of the game were Keith Calleja and Nathan Galea.
